Lenny Kravitz keeps analog recording alive with CLASP

It’s official. Rock Icon Lenny Kravitz has recently purchased two CLASP systems for his new private studio on Eleuthera Island. He is using the CLASP systems to record his new upcoming 2010 release. Lenny’s new studio, a vintage audio paradise, is using two CLASP systems with multiple analog machines. The machines are like having a whole new set of colors to paint sound with and range from the original Studer J-37 1 inch 4 track (EMI No.7) that The Beatles used to record Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, a vintage 1972 3M M79 2 inch 16 track, Studer 827 24 track, Studer A 80, and Studer C 37. ( photo credit Mathieu Bitton )

" I love the CLASP. It has made it possible to finally use my entire collection of tape machines from the Abbey Road J37 to my 3M M79 and the Studer 827 all at different ips settings. I really like the way I can hit the tape machines as I normally do and instantly be able to edit in Pro Tools, without having to do syncing or bouncing back and forth between the two mediums. I’m happy someone finally figured out how combine tape and Pro Tools and now it is an integral part of my studio setup. Thanks Chris and Amy for preserving analog.”
